QNET Thailand staff gathered together over the weekend to hand-make ceremonial flowers to honour the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The flowers will be given to people from lower income backgrounds so that they have the opportunity to pay their respects to their father figure in the way he deserves.

According to Thai tradition, these flowers are to be placed in front of the deceased person’s coffin or urn as a last tribute before cremation. It is estimated that over three million funeral wood flowers will be made and distributed for King Rama IX’s cremation. It is a way for people to show their deep love for the late king.

The Royal Cremation of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej will happen on 25-29 October 2017. It will be the culmination of a year-long period of mourning for the Thai people, who will always remember the King with great respect and admiration. Placing one of these handcrafted flowers is an act of respect and unity in their collective love for the King.

QNET Senior Product Pricing Executive On Benjawan Khemaudom said, "I’m so glad to be part of this good activity to do something for those in need and pay respect to Late King Rama IX." The QNET Thailand staff spent a good part of Saturday learning how to make the flowers and then creating these tributes one petal at a time.
