In a fantastic effort to offer a helping hand to the needy, 26 members of QNET Hong Kong spent a productive Saturday morning last month by volunteering their time with the Crossroads Foundation. QNET staff and volunteers gathered at Tuen Mun West Rail Station and took a minibus to Crossroads Village. When they arrived, they were greeted with an introductory briefing, as this was QNET’s first time volunteering  at Crossroads Foundation. The eager participants were then divided into different groups and began sorting a wide variety of donated items and packaging them for delivery.

The Crossroads Foundation is a non-profit organisation that brings together less fortunate people and those who can help them. One of the foundation’s main initiatives is the collection of high quality items donated by private individuals and businesses. The goods are then distributed internationally to positively impact and improve the lives of people in need.

QNET Company Secretary for Legal Affairs Winnie So said it was a rewarding experience to recycle unwanted things  for a good cause. “Recycling unused goods not only helps the environment, but it can touch the lives of those in need. It is really amazing that we are able to take part in this,” she added.

“In a city that has everything, it is easy to leave behind those who have nothing. Crossroads Foundation is constantly working hard to improve the lives of those in need. I feel honoured and accomplished that my time, skills, and effort went to such a fantastic cause”, said QNET Team Lead of Data Centre Management Benjamin Wong.

This is one of the many activities QNET participates in, in a bid to uphold the principles of RYTHM, our driving force.
