Last year, eighteen QNET Malaysia staff volunteered to devote their weekend by spending time with 31 children from the United Learning Centre (ULC). ULC is a Kuala Lumpur based volunteer centre that provides education to Myanmar refugee children.

QNET volunteers brought lots of joy, comfort, food and a movie treat for the children who were overjoyed by the love, affection and care being showered upon them. The children and young adolescents were filled with delight when they were escorted to a nearby GSC cinema theatre at Berjaya Mall to watch ‘Jumanji.’

“We have participated in these fun activities to bring some cheer and joy to the kids and show them a good time. It is our duty to make a difference to vulnerable communities like the Myanmar refugees who need our help,” a delighted volunteer said.

ULC is located in a quiet corner in a Kuala Lumpur’s residential area. There, it houses Myanmar refugees fleeing violence and is supported by various NGOs, charitable organisations, and volunteers. The centre provides children with learning opportunities to help prepare them for resettlement in a third country.

This is one of the many charitable activities QNET actively takes part in for the good of society. Committing to its principles of Raise Yourself To Help Mankind (RYTHM), QNET strives to make a difference in the lives and well-being of vulnerable people. QNET continuously supports initiatives relating to children with special needs, community development and community well-being.
