QNET Malaysia stepped up its longstanding support to the Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) through a series of SSR activities last year, involving over thirty volunteers from various departments. KSK is a non-profit organisation well-known for its community development projects for the homeless and underprivileged by providing food, counselling, and medical care.

QNET volunteers worked alongside the KSK team on various tasks including food bank registration, food preparation, and food distribution at Anjung Singgah, Medan Tuanku, and various locations in Kuala Lumpur. Our volunteers also took part in the Food Surplus session and helped to collect leftover food for redistribution to the poor.

“This experience opened my eyes to see what life is like for the poor. It gave me the opportunity to contribute to the community”, a volunteer said.

Another volunteer said that, “Helping those in need has given me a sense of happiness and fulfilment. It made me appreciate and be grateful for the things I am given in life”.

KSK was founded in Kuala Lumpur in 2006 by students of Tsem Rinpoche, the organisation’s Spiritual Guide. They started off with food distribution and over time, expanded the scale of its operations. KSK was then formally established in 2008 and has been led by a committee of volunteers ever since.

This is one of the many initiatives QNET actively takes part in, to uphold the principles of RYTHM, short for Raise Yourself To Help Mankind.
